Mainentance and Operation
Engine Preparation:
- Fill the crankcase. Remove the yellow cap and fill with approximately 22 oz. of 10W30 motor oil. Replace cap.
- Fill the Pacer water pump. To do this, remove the top black cap and fill with clean water. Replace cap.
- Fill the gas tank. Always use unleaded fuel when filling. Replace tank cap.
Operation Procedures:
- Connect the transfer suction hose to the red valve handled inlet. Attach the green hose with quick-connection. Open the inlet valve. Place the hose with debris filter attached beneath the water surface. If using a fire hydrant, connect the transfer hose from the fire hydrant to the pump inlet. Start the engine before opening the inlet valve.
- Connect one or both fire hoses. Connect the hoses to the blue valve handled outlet port. Unroll the hoses. Open the outlet valve and attach selected nozzle.
- Start engine. Set switch to On. Set choke to Start. Advance throttle to half. Pull start rope handle until the engine begins to run. Slowly move the choke handle to RABBIT. Advance the throttle.
- With engine running and inlet and outlet valves open allow ten seconds for water to prime from the suction hose. Water should flow to the attached hoses. Direct the hose nozzle and water as needed.
- Stop engine. Turn switch to Off. Slow the throttle to Stop.
Engine Maintenance:
- Drain and refill oil after the first five hours of operation.
- Open inlet and outlet valves. Drain water from lines. [Winter Storage]
- Drain the Pacer water pump. Remove the black drain plug on the bottom of the pump. Replace the plug when pump is empty.
- Drain and roll hoses and store the unit out of the weather.
Liability:
- The Manufacturer assumes no liability for damages or loss of property, and warrants only parts for replacement. Not responsible for abuse or damages.
- Read all enclosed instructions for operation.
- For engine maintenance or repairs, contact an authorized small engine repair service facility.
- For optimum pump results, the cart facility should be level during operation.
- To avoid hydraulic shock, DO NOT DRIVE OVER FIRE HOSES while pumping water.
